Structured Mental Health & Psychological wellbeing Oversight
for Television Production

Assessment. On-location support. Aftercare—delivered within a clear safeguarding framework, aligned to production.

PsyCoach delivers structured mental health & psychological wellbeing assessments, on-location support, and aftercare services for television productions.

We work with production companies to ensure participant welfare is managed proactively, proportionately, and in line with UK safeguarding expectations—without disrupting production delivery.

PARTICIPANT SCREENING

Fitness for Inclusion assessments provide a structured, evidence-based evaluation of participant suitability.

We assess motivation, context, mental and psychological health history, and current functioning to determine capacity for informed consent.

Each assessment includes clear recommendations and safeguarding considerations, enabling confident casting decisions.

Support During Production

Structured mental health and psychological wellbeing support delivered across filming, aligned to production schedules.

Includes:

  • Emotional regulation and decision-making support

  • Managing pressure within high-intensity environments

  • Brief, targeted interventions informed by a relevant therapeutic modality (e.g. CBT)

  • Ongoing monitoring of capacity for informed consent and risk management

All support is defined, time-bound, and operationally integrated.

Aftercare & Broadcast Support

Support focused on key risk periods, particularly transmission and public exposure.

Includes:

  • Scheduled check-ins

  • Responsive support where required

  • Guidance around public and social pressures

Aftercare is proportionate and clearly scoped, maintaining stability without open-ended provision.

Safeguarding Framework & Professional Standards

PsyCoach operates within a clearly defined clinical and operational framework, ensuring participant welfare is managed appropriately while maintaining professional boundaries.

Scope of Support
& Clinical Boundaries

PsyCoach provides structured mental and psychological health support within the context of television production. When contracted for on-location support, clinicians can respond to acute situations as they arise. Outside of this context, PsyCoach does not operate as a crisis intervention service, and individuals are directed to appropriate local services.

Where urgent or emergency care is required, we support immediate signposting to appropriate services, including:

  • GP and out-of-hours medical services

  • Emergency departments (A&E) or urgent care

  • Specialist organisations such as Mind and Samaritans

This ensures timely access to appropriate care while maintaining clear clinical and operational boundaries.

Professional Standards
& Compliance

All PsyCoach clinicians are appropriately qualified and registered, operating in line with:

  • UK safeguarding frameworks

  • Professional codes of ethics and conduct

  • Legal requirements relating to consent and confidentiality

We maintain:

  • DBS clearance

  • Professional indemnity insurance (UK and international)

Participant dignity, confidentiality, and informed consent are central to all delivery.
